Embracing Mistakes!

Y’all, I realized that one of my prior newsletters was not even fully completed (insert face palm emoji). I was on vacation when I saw it and for a hot second, I felt super embarrassed and immediately wanted to find a laptop so I could log in and fix it. That moment could have really ruined my vacation if I had continued to ruminate on what you guys would be thinking about me. Instead, I thought about how this was a reminder of how our cringe moments don’t have to define us. They don’t have to be so devastating that we become paralyzed and stop what we set out to do.

I could have shut this newsletter down and say “you know what, I suck at this…I quit”… I could not have said anything about it and kept it moving. Me being me, I decided to share my experience of working through my negative thoughts as an example of how it is normal to make mistakes, it is normal to have some not so good thoughts and actions in response to them. It is also okay to face them and choose to keep going and not let it deter me from moving forward with what I set out to do.

You will have cringe moments; you will mess up and have to decide what response to have. It is okay to feel your feelings about it, but feelings are not what defines how you respond. You decide.

So, what was your last cringe moment?

What did you feel?

What did you do?

What would like to do differently?
